Being an Indian, beef surely was not the first choice of meat since cow is regarded sacred in India so should not be killed, let alone eaten! Balancing traditional beliefs and modern methods can be a challenge for parents especially for those living abroad! We, as a family are not rigid in our ways but I still would like my daughters to acknowledge our tradition while having the freedom to explore new beginnings. However, I also hold the opinion that restrictions on food habits and lifestyle alterations are man-made mindset rather than a traditional lineage!
Anyway enough of philosophical pondering, what I actually wanted to share is this popular dish which I have Indianised a bit and given it a spicy twist! I have followed the same method of making ,the difference being the use of Indian spices and like most of my recipes to make it suitable for the entire family I have added few vegetables. You can make the dish using any other meat or for a vegetarian version use soya mince. It tastes almost the same!!
